Since moving to Berlin, I have been focusing less on producing tunes, and more on developing ways to improvise in a live setting. I have played several gigs in recent months, both solo and in groups, and I've been enjoying them thoroughly. I have found the Berlin community of improvised and experimental music very welcoming, for which I am grateful.
Maybe I'll change my mind again soon and go back to producing tunes with countless edits and automation lanes. Who knows? But for the moment I certainly don't miss the endless mouse clicking to make a tune 'in the box'.
Here is a recording from a recent solo gig at Studio Acht as part of their Sacred Realism series. I really like this series. I have seen some great performances there, and I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to perform there.
